We have all used Google maps or other navigation systems on our phone while driving. Augmented by cost effective mounting devices the experience has become hands free and pleasurable. However, the element of pleasure is not risk free, as the vision is impaired if the phone is mounted directly in front of the driver. Description of the Technology
The application works by utilizing the primary camera of a system such as phone or tab and projects the image on to the screen in real time. The application may be used simultaneously with other applications such as Google maps&other navigational applications, therefore a transparent field of navigation is provided, thereby allowing a driver to mount it in the line of sight and avoid accidents.
Uses and Advantages
None of the apps present in the market that makes the phone transparent and compatible with other apps such as Google Maps, therefore their use and purpose is severely restricted.
Presently there is specialized hardware or devices that work as transparent heads-up display operated via physical connection or other remote connection to the phones. However, the hardware’s cost is around INR 18, 000 with no reputed brand available in the market.
