Technical Description
This invention uses N‑methyl‑2‑pyrrolidinone 5‑hydroperoxide (NMPOOH) with a base as a highly efficient, benign epoxidation reagent, especially for electron‑deficient olefins. It offers high yields, strong stereo/chemoselectivity, and broader substrate scope than many existing peroxide systems.
Problems Addressed
- Limited Epoxidation Selectivity
- Poor Diastereocontrol
- Explosive Peroxides
- Low Reagent Stability
- Complex Synthesis Routes
- Heteroatom Over‑oxidation
