Technical Description
A solar parabolic trough collector using a modified internal torque tube and external rhombus truss torque box to provide high bending and torsional rigidity with reduced material usage. The hollow rhombus/trapezoidal torque tube and symmetric rhombus truss allow longer modules, fewer supports and lighter structures while accurately maintaining the receiver at the focal line.
Problems Addressed
- Poor Torsional Rigidity
- Insufficient Bending Strength
- Heavy Torque Box Designs
- Too Many Joints
- High Structural Cost
- Excess Module Supports
Tech Features
