Spiral Series Elastic Actuator

Technical Description

The invention presents a rotary series elastic actuator using a planar transmission unit with inner and outer rings bridged by spiral elastic elements to transmit torque compliantly. A compact plate–spring structure, integrated couplers, and a single encoder enable stiffness control, torque sensing, and misalignment tolerance with reduced mechanical complexity.
