THF-Alkoxide Catalysis

Technical Description

This invention relates to a monomeric THF-coordinated Group 13 alkoxide adduct from metal chlorides and alcohols stabilize the fourth coordination site to prevent oligomerization. They efficiently initiate rac-lactide ROP to yield high-molecular weight PLA under mild conditions.

Problems Addressed

  • Lacks Monomer Isolation
  • Lacks Fourth Coordination
  • Inefficient Prior Synthesis
  • Oligomerization Issues
  • Faces Chlorine Contamination
  • Sodium Contamination Issues

Tech Features

  • Efficient Monomeric State
  • Enhanced Coordination Control
  • Better Impurity Profile
  • Efficient Mild Conditions
  • Enhanced PLA Molecular Weight
  • Better Packaging Atacticity

Target Audience

  • Bioplastics Manufacturers
  • Medical Biomaterial Manufacturers
  • Chemical & Solvent Producers
  • Pharmaceutical & Drug Manufacturing Industries
