MAB-Based OLLA Adaptation

Technical Description

This invention describes a method treating Outer Loop Link Adaptation (OLLA) as Multi-Armed Bandit (MAB) problem for accurate MCS selection in LTE eNBs.It dynamically adjusts CQI offsets via bandit arms to achieve target BLER despite erroneous feedback, improving wireless throughput.

Problems Addressed

  • Erroneous CQI Feedback
  • Biased SINR Estimation
  • Inaccurate MCS Mapping
  • Static Offset Limitations
  • Outdated Rate Metrics
  • Variable BLER Targets

Tech Features

  • MCS Arms Association
  • Offset Binary Search
  • BLER Target Adjustment
  • Dynamic Arm Selection
  • MAB Optimization Loop
  • UE-Specific Adaptation

Target Audience

  • Telecom Equipment Makers
  • Wireless Network Operators
  • 5G Base Station Vendors
  • Chipset Semiconductor Firms
  • Research & Development
