Technical Description
This invention relates to an apparatus and electrochemical methods utilizing sediment microbial fuel cells (SMFC) to reduce toxic Hexavalent Chromium [Cr (VI)] to less toxic Trivalent Chromium [Cr(III)] simultaneously from both overlying water and underlying sediment phases while generating clean energy.
