Technical Description
This invention presents a core-free, multi-layer PCB passive filter designed to suppress high-frequency Differential Mode (DM) conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI) noise in power electronic converters. The topology completely replaces heavy magnetic cores, delivering high inductance and current capacity solely through optimized copper trace geometry and a series-damped capacitor network.
Problems Addressed
- Bulky and heavy chokes/inductors
- Expensive magnetic components
- High Self-Resonating Frequency (SRF) Limits
- Magnetic Core Saturation
- Fabrication Complexity
Tech Features
