Technical Description
The invention is an applicator system designed for the sequential delivery of microwave hyperthermia and high-dose-rate brachytherapy to target tissue volumes. The system guides dual-radiation therapies into deep body cavities using flexible, multi-frequency choked antennas cooled by internal water circulation loops.
Problems Addressed
- Severe Space Constraints in Body Cavities
- Collateral Heat Injury From Back Currents
- Invasive Radial Bulk of Traditional Chokes
- Wavelength Discrepancies at Lower Frequencies
- Rigid Misalignment With Human Anatomy
- Ablation Fluctuations Based on Insertion Depth
- Fragmented Multi-Modal Clinical Workflows
Tech Features
- Triple-Frequency Y-Shaped Radiators
- Integrated Fluid-Spacer Lines
- Sub-300μm Polymer-Ferrite Chokes
- Dual-Choke Multi-Frequency Conformal Heating
- 2mm Tissue-Piercing Catheterization
- Unified Hyperthermia-Brachytherapy Template
- Depth Independent Resistive Coating (PEDOT:PSS)
Target Audience
- Advanced Biocompatible Materials & Medical Coatings
