Technical Description
The technology discloses a system and method for recovering the 3D structure of an object and generating an all-in-focus image from multiple partially focused images. It jointly estimates pixel-level parallax and defocus blur parameters and combines them in a posterior energy function to produce a focused image and a corrected depth profile.
Problems Addressed
- Limited Depth of Field in Imaging
- Parallax Errors in Shape-from-Focus
- Inaccurate Depth from Defocus Alone
- Partially Focused Image Stacks
- Poor 3D Recovery in Endoscopic Imaging
- Need for Single-Camera 3D Reconstruction
Tech Features
- Pixel-Level Parallax Estimation
- Defocus Blur Map Generation
