Polarization Independent Frequency Selective Surface

Technical Description

This invention introduces a miniaturized, polarization-independent frequency selective surface (FSS) unit cell designed for quasi-optical networks in remote sensing radiometers. The structure utilizes a rotationally symmetric, mutually coupled ring and dipole configuration on a dielectric substrate to de-multiplex multi-band millimeter-wave signals with minimal insertion loss.

Problems Addressed

  • Severe Transmission Losses
  • High Polarization Sensitivity
  • Oblique Incidence Vulnerability
  • Narrowband Diplexer Constraints
  • Limited Multi-Band Capability
  • Structural Profile Bulkiness

Tech Features

  • Enhanced Polarization Independence
  • Efficient Multi-Band De-Multiplexing
  • Optimised Mutual Coupling
  • Excellent Oblique Performance
  • High Rotational Symmetry
