Technical Description
This invention relates to a selective catalytic hydrogenation process for producing partially hydrogenated hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene (HHTPB) using a Pd-Zr/charcoal catalyst. By performing the reaction within a specific temperature range in an organic solvent system, it achieves precise degrees of hydrogenation (5% to 90%) to dramatically enhance the polymer's thermal and oxidative ageing resistance.
