Light Guided Cellular Cargo Delivery

Technical Description

The technology discloses a photoporation platform with patterned reduced graphene oxide (rGO) islands on a silicon or silica substrate. Infrared laser pulses enable intracellular delivery of proteins, nucleic acids, dyes and plasmids. The islands are spaced 25–35 µm apart, supporting uniform cargo delivery while minimizing thermal stress on cells.

Problems Addressed

  • Low Intracellular Delivery Efficiency
  • Biomolecular Cargo Degradation
  • Delivery-Related Cell Toxicity
  • Imprecise Laser Exposure
  • Nanoparticle-Associated Cell Damage
  • Nonuniform Cargo Delivery

Tech Features

  • Patterned rGO Islands 8–12 µm Diameter
  • 1064 nm Pulsed Laser 28 mJ/cm² Fluence
  • Efficiency Up to 99%
  • Cell Viability Above 98%
  • Cargo Range 668 Da to 465 kDa
  • Fast Fabrication

Target Audience

  • Biomedical and Life Sciences Teams
  • Pharmaceutical and Drug Discovery
  • Cell and Gene Delivery Researchers
