Grant-Free Transmission Control Scheme

Technical Description

This invention discloses a method and apparatus for managing grant-free uplink data transmissions in wireless radio communication networks (such as 3GPP NR URLLC and mMTC). By utilizing a Select Signal (SS) transmitted via Layer 1 (L1) or Radio Resource Control (RRC) signaling, the base station dynamically controls, activates, or deactivates fresh transmissions and retransmissions to reduce collisions without introducing conventional scheduling latency.

Problems Addressed

  • High Grant-Based Latency
  • Excessive Signaling Power
  • Frequent Packet Collisions
  • Reduced Transmission Reliability
  • Uncontrolled Resource Access

Tech Features

  • Select Signal (SS) Composition
  • L1 Dynamic Control Signaling
  • RRC-Level Transmission Management
  • Dynamic Activation and Deactivation
  • Separate Retransmission Stream Control
  • Collision-Mitigated Resource Allocation

Target Audience

  • Telecommunications Equipment Vendors
  • Cellular Network Operators
  • Base Station Equipment Manufacturers
  • Iot Module and Chipset Designers
  • Industrial Automation Infrastructure Providers
  • Wireless Communication Technology Developers
  • Research & Development
