Technical Description
The invention provides a system and method for dynamic power control in CNC hot wire cutting machines. It modulates the electrical power and temperature of a wire heating element based directly on the cutting feed rate to prevent material over-melting during velocity changes.
Problems Addressed
- Wire bowing from low heat input
- Uneven kerf widths on tight curves
- Hazard of active hot wires when stopped
- Corner over-melting during deceleration
Tech Features
- Speed-Adaptive Power Scaling
- Zero-Motion Safety Mode
- Low-Cost Firmware Integration
- Dual-Mode Material Profiling
- Current/Voltage Signal Flexibility
- Uniform Kerf-Width Control
Target Audience
- Automation Hardware Engineers
- CNC Cutting Machine Manufacturers
- Foam Mold and Insulation Fabricators
